# FFmix > FFmix is a local-first FFmpeg GUI for macOS that shows the exact command before it runs — drop in video, audio or images, pick a task or describe it in a sentence, confirm, and everything processes on your Mac. Files never leave the device. FFmix("F-mix")是一款本地优先的 Mac 版 FFmpeg 图形界面:媒体全程在本机处理、文件永不上传,AI 生成的处理管线必须经用户确认才执行。 ## Key facts - Platform: macOS 14.0+, Apple Silicon, native SwiftUI app. Available on the Mac App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6779005468 - Engine: the open-source ffmpeg engine is built into the app (App Store build) — nothing to download, works offline. Power users can point it at an existing ffmpeg instead. - Privacy: media files are never uploaded. The AI box sends only the sentence you type, never a file; simple requests are parsed on-device and send nothing. Subtitle transcription runs locally with Whisper. No account, no telemetry of file contents. - AI: simple intents are parsed by on-device rules (free, unlimited, nothing sent); compound sentences use a cloud parser (5/month free, unlimited on Pro). The generated pipeline is always shown and only runs after the user confirms. - Tasks (12): compress, convert, extract audio, GIF, merge, trim, crop, remove audio, watermark, change speed, rotate, burn or locally transcribe subtitles. - Presets: 27 built-in ffmpeg recipes in 7 groups; custom presets run from a Finder right-click and the menu bar. - Pricing: free for all local tasks (unlimited, serial queue). FFmix Pro is an auto-renewable subscription (3× parallel queue, unlimited AI parsing, watch-folder automation, unlimited Finder presets) with a 7-day free trial and Family Sharing — pricing is shown in the App Store and varies by region. - Languages: website in English, 中文, Italiano (en = root, zh = /zh, it = /it). App UI in 中文 / English. - The command FFmix shows in "Advanced" is the literal command it runs; output is written next to the source and never overwrites it. ## Pages - [Home](https://ffmix.com/) — overview, features, presets, pricing, FAQ (中文 https://ffmix.com/zh · Italiano https://ffmix.com/it) - [About FFmix](https://ffmix.com/about) — what it is, brand, and principles (disambiguation: a macOS media tool, not a game) - [Security & local processing](https://ffmix.com/security) — data-flow: what stays on device, what's sent, what's stored - [Local video processing](https://ffmix.com/local-video-processing) — private, offline processing for sensitive footage - [Mac video compressor](https://ffmix.com/video-compressor-mac) — target-size & quality compression (H.264/HEVC; VideoToolbox on the App Store build) - [Mac video converter](https://ffmix.com/video-converter-mac) — MOV/MKV/WebM/AVI → MP4, lossless remux when possible - [Supported formats & codecs](https://ffmix.com/supported-formats) — what FFmix opens vs exports - [FFmix vs HandBrake](https://ffmix.com/compare/ffmix-vs-handbrake) — fair comparison incl. when HandBrake is the better pick - [FFmix vs ffWorks](https://ffmix.com/compare/ffmix-vs-ffworks) — fair comparison incl. when ffWorks is the better pick - [Guides index](https://ffmix.com/guides) — step-by-step how-tos, each with the real ffmpeg command (中文 https://ffmix.com/zh/guides · Italiano https://ffmix.com/it/guides) - [Support](https://ffmix.com/support) · [Privacy](https://ffmix.com/privacy) - [Full corpus for AI](https://ffmix.com/llms-full.txt) — detailed product description ## Guides - [A free ffmpeg GUI for Mac — no Homebrew, no terminal](https://ffmix.com/guides/free-ffmpeg-gui-mac) - [A free Handbrake alternative for Mac — convert, compress & more](https://ffmix.com/guides/handbrake-alternative-mac) - [Do you need to install ffmpeg on Mac? It is not a fit for Windows or Linux, full timeline/NLE editing, or ProRes/AV1 export.
